APR'S STORY
APR's story starts long before the company was founded. Paul and Alan first crossed paths working in the print and finishing industry, building a friendship and professional respect over years of working for different companies around the world, mostly in the printing industry. Both started their careers on the shop floor - Paul with 50 years of hands-on experience and Alan with 36 years - learning the machinery, understanding the applications, and solving real production problems day in, day out.
This wasn't theoretical knowledge learned from a textbook. It was earned through years of operating equipment, troubleshooting failures, and knowing exactly what it takes to keep production lines running. That shared background - and their understanding of what operators, engineers and companies actually need - became the foundation of everything APR would become.
In early 2012, drawing on their deep print industry expertise, Paul and Alan established AP Rollers, supplying precision rollers to the printing sector. But their engineering backgrounds meant they saw opportunities beyond rollers. Customers were facing conveyor belt challenges, and the pair recognised they could bring the same problem-solving approach and technical knowledge to belting solutions.
As they explored the conveyor belt market, they discovered Nitta Corporation - and immediately recognised a perfect alignment. Nitta weren't just belt manufacturers; they shared the same values around engineering excellence, performance, and deep industry understanding. Their product range was proven in the same demanding print and manufacturing environments Paul and Alan knew inside out. The partnership was a natural fit.
With Nitta's high-performance belts and technical backing, the business evolved from AP Rollers into APR Solutions. They weren't just selling products; they were providing engineering support, understanding applications, and solving specific operational challenges with proven solutions.
